Strengthening Community in Santa Ana
The Santa Ana Family YMCA invited local families with preschool age children to attend the first Pre-K Day at the Y. The free event taught kids and their families how to be safe around the pool and what to do in emergency situations. They also showcased a soccer clinic with fundamentals and activities that parents and kids can do at home to enhance their skills. In total, about 50 families attended and enjoyed learning from the Y’s resourceful staff.
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes continue in Santa Ana and this volunteer lead program is making a tremendous impact on the participants who are taking the class so they can obtain better paying jobs and be able to support their families in a multitude of ways.
Big shout out to Mr. Jose from Arroyo YMCA and the entire child care team for showing their support by providing books for our participating adult students to learn from.
