Y-Retirement Virtual Education

Want to learn more about your benefits, or need help planning for retirement? There are now two live virtual education options facilitated by YMCA Retirement Fund staff!

New dates and times are released at Noon ET on the second Monday of each month for the following month. For example: on the second Monday of March, dates and times will be released for the month of April. Please note sessions fill to capacity quickly!

When you click on either link, you will be taken to a registration page. Any date in bold is still open for registration. Click on that date, select a time and register. Times shown are in eastern time, but you will be able to convert them to your time zone once you click on an option.

Understanding Your YMCA Retirement Fund Benefit

This 45-minute educational presentation is designed for new hires or those ready to save for retirement. You’ll learn the difference between the Retirement Plan and the Savings Plan and how to make the most of the Savings Plan’s (403(b) Smart Account and Rollover) features while working and in retirement. You’ll also learn the “rule of thumb” for the income you’ll need in retirement and how tax-deferred savings add up.

Retirement Strategies: Creating Your Plan Seminar

This is a three-hour seminar designed for staff who are within ten years of retirement or over the age of fifty. Your spouse/partner is encouraged to attend. You’ll learn about the options with your YMCA Retirement Fund accounts, including all annuity options; understanding and getting the most from your Social Security benefit; budgeting; taxes in retirement; healthcare options, including an overview of Medicare; and questions to consider in estate planning.

Those pursuing Y-USA Leadership certification/re-certification can receive four credits.
